Before this semester began I had no clue what blogging was,
and to be honest, I really did not like to blog till about a week ago. Last
week was when I started taking this assignment seriously and I really wish that
I took it serious from the beginning. Blogging is actually really fun and is
not as hard as I thought it would be.
I am glad that blogging was an assignment
for this class because if it was not I most likely would of never learned how
to blog; so blogging was one of the things I learned in English 101, and I am
thankful for it. I think that this assignment was useful in terms of getting to
know the people in our class, especially since we only met one time a week. It was
also useful to read about what other people in both Monday and Wednesday classes
thought on assignments, and their reactions to what we learned. And the self
generated blog let me see what was going on in other people’s lives (not in a
stalking way though) but more of the ‘getting knowledge from older people’ type
of way. Personally I think it is pretty cool to see what is important in people’s
lives according to their age groups.
My suggestions to Amanda about how to help
students with this project and get a better outcome is when you are giving this
assignment out the first few days of class, let your students know that it is
really not as hard as they might think. Also, I know it is a lot of work, but I
think you should do one to. At least self generated ones, make it fun.
Lastly, THANK YOU for teaching me!! I learned
a lot, and honestly I was not a big fan of English as a subject but this class
was not half bad, I sort of liked it and looked forward to coming.
Your blogs have come a long way and you are successfully integrating your pictures and better organizing your ideas.
