Assigned Entry #5 PiNk SLiMe

Pink slime!
                    What exactly is it?
"Pink slime" is a very disturbing product that is being fed to many children.  It should definitely not be consumed by schools or anyone for that matter. Due to the fact that it is actually the left over particles that would be used to make dog food but instead it is treated with ammonia oxide, ground up and added to the beef we as Americans purchase and consume.

The USDA,  who is supposed to protect us from products like pink slime, actually allows up to seventeen percent to exist in the food products that are purchased and eaten. I suppose that profit is more important to them rather than taking our health and safety into consideration when adding pink slime. I however believe that it should be band from any company or corporation altogether to ensure that no one is consuming meat that has not been cleaned and that is treated with chemicals that can be very harmful.

  1. You need to give more context for these posts. For instance, in this entry you only mention that pink slime is a "disturbing product being fed to children" but you do not give any real explanation of it. You do this a bit more in your needles post when you consider TB. You have to always provide the background/context for your reader so that they can fully understand what you are discussing.
